Ingredients
4 Egg Yolks
1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
1 cup Whole Milk
1 cup Heavy Cream
2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
Instructions
Combine egg yolks and sugar in a saucepan, whisk until pale yellow
Heat milk in a separate saucepan until just simmering
Gradually add warm milk to yolk mixture, stirring constantly
Return to heat, cook to 165°F, then remove from heat
Chill custard in airtight container to ≤65°F
Stir in heavy cream and vanilla extract
Churn in ice cream maker according to manufacturer instructions

Chill custard at least 4 hours before churning
Freeze mixing bowl for ice cream maker in advance
