Ingredients
- 1.5 – 2 pounds chicken wings: provides the base of the recipe with juicy meat and crispy skin
- 3 tablespoons olive oil: helps the wings crisp up in the oven
- 4 tablespoons salted butter: adds richness and helps the glaze stick
- 1–2 tablespoons honey (optional): adds a light sweetness and glaze-like texture
- 2 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning: the key flavor component, combining citrus and pepper
- 2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice: enhances the citrus flavor
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest: boosts fresh lemon aroma and taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425˚F and line a baking sheet with foil. Place a cooling rack on top.
- Pat chicken wings dry and brush with olive oil on both sides. Arrange them in a single layer on the rack.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown and crispy, or until internal temperature reaches 165˚F.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, lemon pepper seasoning, honey (if using), lemon juice, and lemon zest.
- Toss the hot wings in the lemon pepper glaze until evenly coated.
- Optional: Garnish with cracked black pepper, extra lemon zest, and lemon slices before serving.
Notes
- Pat wings dry thoroughly to achieve crispy texture in the oven.
- Honey is optional but adds great flavor and helps the glaze stick.
- Use fresh lemon juice and zest for the brightest flavor.
- To reheat, use an oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
- Frozen wings must be fully thawed and dried before use.
