Meet Emily, the Heart Behind Recipes Troupe
Hi, I’m Emily.

I’m a home cook living just outside Asheville, North Carolina, where the mountains slow life down and the seasons quietly guide what ends up on the table. I believe cooking should feel comforting, doable, and real—especially when life is busy and expectations are high.

I didn’t grow up in a fancy kitchen or dream of becoming a chef. I grew up watching my mom turn everyday groceries into meals that felt like care, and my dad take weekend cooking seriously, especially when there was a grill involved. Our kitchen wasn’t perfect, but it was warm, loud, and full of life. That’s where I learned that food doesn’t need to be complicated to matter.

Why Recipes Troupe?

Why Recipes Troupe?

Recipes Troupe started from a simple place: real life.
After too many rushed meals and forgettable takeout dinners, I realized cooking wasn’t just about food—it was about slowing down, reconnecting, and taking care of the people around me (including myself). I began cooking more intentionally, learning through trial, error, and curiosity. I burned things, fixed others, and slowly found confidence.

Recipes Troupe is here for home cooks who want food that works. No pressure, no perfection—just reliable recipes that fit into everyday life.
What You’ll Find Here

On Recipes Troupe, you’ll find recipes that are:

  • Simple, approachable, and full of flavor
  • Made with everyday ingredients
  • Designed for real kitchens and real schedules

You’ll see a mix of:

  • Comforting main dishes
  • Easy side dishes
  • Crowd-pleasing appetizers
  • Desserts worth making again

I cook with the seasons when I can, adjust recipes when they need it, and care more about taste than appearances. Every recipe is tested, tweaked, and written with clarity so you can cook with confidence.

What Sets Recipes Troupe Apart

  • Recipes are written for real people, not perfect kitchens
  • Instructions are clear, practical, and honest
  • Flexibility is encouraged—make it your own
  • Flavor always comes first

Cooking shouldn’t feel intimidating. If something doesn’t turn out perfectly, that’s part of the process—and part of the learning.

A Small Story

One of my favorite things about cooking is how naturally it brings people together. Some of my best conversations happen while something simmers on the stove or finishes roasting in the oven.

I still remember evenings when the kitchen felt calm and full at the same time—food cooking, windows open, no rush to be anywhere else. Those moments taught me that meals don’t have to be fancy to be meaningful. They just need care.

That feeling is what I try to pass along here.

Let’s Cook Something Real

If you’re juggling real life, real responsibilities, and real hunger, you’re exactly who Recipes Troupe is for. You don’t need special tools or rare ingredients—just curiosity, a little patience, and the willingness to start.
